The Curtis 1223 is the smaller model in the 122* family of motor controllers designed for use with permanent magnet motors installed in small electric vehicles. This controller is exceptionally versatile with extended capabilities thanks to its programmable nature and MultiMode system. It’s MOSFET unit is a state of the art implementation combining efficient-control, complete diagnostic systems receiving information from all key points, speed and acceleration limiters, support for multiple throttle types, and linear variable speed limiting. In addition to these, the 1223 controller offers safety features such as the Curtis High Pedal Disable (HPD) which constantly monitors the throttle status, the key off decel that provides smooth deceleration when the key switch is turned to the off position, and anti-rollback/forward circuits that respond by applying the brake or increasing the throttle once the detecting roll exceeds the threshold value. 1223 is compliant with the ISO 7176 fault detection standard, incorporating a relevant throttle disabling system. Finally, this controller is also compatible with the requirements of the TUV standard, so it can be safely used in mobility scooters as well.
